Out of nowhere – angel wings arrived!
Not quite out of nowhere, I had notification 5 days before the little gold badge appeared on my pages, giving me time to make a lens about it.
Don’t ask me about the angel duties until I’ve had some sleep! Over a week now and all I’ve had time to do is sift, bleary-eyed, through hundreds of lenses (and to shudder at the default bios) and occasionally read the digest of messages coming in a dozen times a day from other angels.
The main duty of angels is to guard against the spam which an easy web creation system like squidoo allows, when you make it a simple process for genuine people to create lenses you open the doors to the scam artists.
Occasionally I’ve had the opportunity to give a little ‘thumbs up’ to some excellent work hidden amongst the unscrupulous profiteers. It’s worth picking my way through the dross to find the occasional treasure.
