Archive for the ‘Books’ Category
All of a sudden my lens on Arthur’s Women has taken a leap from the bottom of the pile and hurled itself up in to a much higher tier.
I find this surprising as it’s a little out of the mainstream (one comment mentioned ‘esoteric’) but I think it changed tiers because I altered the thrust of the lens to cover the treatment of women in Arthurian legend.
It really just demonstrates that updating a lens with fresh content can visibly make a large difference. Plus – that a little known niche topic can be broadened to cover a larger view.
I should have cleaned out my bookshelves a long time ago. Still, all laziness aside, I’m enjoying finding books that I haven’t read for ages, some I had forgotten about entirely.
One of these is I, Claudius.
How could I have forgotten such a thrilling book? Two books really. (The second is titled Claudius the God). Gorgeous stuff.
Because of long hours at my computer I’ve cut down my reading time and hadn’t realised that now I’m only reading a book on the train and just before I go to sleep. Very remiss of me.
In the lens I also added a couple of video modules from the BBC mini series which must be one of the best TV shows I have ever seen and these days surpassed only by the absolutely gorgeous Rome.
