Weird word, eh? English is like that ..
We all know what a lens is : It’s a transparent optical device used to converge or diverge transmitted light and to form images. It’s from the Latin lens – a lentil. So named from the resemblance in shape of a double convex lens to the seed of a lentil.
As for graphy. When used as a suffix, ‘graphy’ conveys the idea of writing about something.
Thus – lensography, writing about lenses.
Of course a lensography has to be kept strictly up to date
